Service Design Toolkit

At Warwickshire County Council we have been exploring the value of adopting a Service Design approach to projects. The purpose of service design is to look at the needs and requirements of users, and then look for solutions with these users and other stakeholders. By working closely with service users we have been able to identify and deliver solutions that closely match user need, reducing the risk of projects not achieving their goals. This is particularly important as there is a need for targeted and efficient services that can prove their worth, especially in a time of financial constraint.

This toolkit has been developed following a piece of work between SICM, Information Assets, Customer Service and two external companies. As well as a high-level toolkit that can be taken and applied to new projects, it will also share the experiences from the two demonstrator projects used to test out the principles and how best to apply them within WCC.
